KICKINS (throwins)

Rules:
- The ball must NOT move/roll
- The ball must be on the line
- Feet must be on the line or outside the play area – NOT inside the play area
- you have 4 seconds to play the ball once it is on the line

Guidelines:
- Pass the ball to an open player
- Other players must be open
- Lift up the ball in the air above opponent if necessary
- pass the ball down the line as much as possible
- Kick it in the goal if you’re not too far. Someone (the goal keeper) might touch it and it might be a goal. If nobody touches the ball it won’t count though.

- do NOT pass the ball in the middle of the field – it can be intercepted

GOAL CLEARANCE (Goal kicks)

Rules:
- the ball has to touch the ground in International United’s (IU) half of the field first.

So
Goal keepers:
Either throw it toward the ground to an open IU player
OR
if the ball is still LIVE (it didn't cross the end line) let it drop in front of you and kick it right away to an open IU player. When the ball hits the ground it’s live and somebody could come and score on you.
Other players:
Don’t go too far and get open. Be in the best possible position to receive the ball.

FREE KICKS

Rules:
Can be direct or indirect.
You’ll know if it’s direct or indirect by looking at the referee. The referee has to raise one arm if it is an indirect kick.
If he does not raise his arm it is a direct kick.

Guide lines:
Players should ‘create’ a wall . One or two players in the wall.
Other IU players should cover the open players.
If there is an open player not covered then we’ll have only one man in the wall and the other IU player cover the open player.

Goal Keep should make sure the wall is setup properly and that all players are covered.

DURING THE GAME

- Talk each other.
- Fast passes
- Shoot from far since it’s difficult to get close.

On Defense:
One player goes to the player who has the ball.
The other players have to ALWAYS cover players and anticipate their moves.
Covering a player means stay close to the player you cover, make sure the ball doesn't get to him/her or get the ball before he does if someone passes the ball to him/her.
